Welcome to The Great Summer Pitch!

The Great Journey invites game startups and teams to pitch their latests projects to an industry panel and a live audience. The Great Summer Pitch is a pitch event in Karlstad for indie game developers where you can win up to 100 000 SEK!


PRICE MONEY *

1st place: 100 000 SEK

2nd place: 40 000 SEK

3rd place: 25 000 SEK

Best Demo / Prototype: 10 000 SEK


The Great Journey aims to promote ambitious teams and studios looking to be a part of the growing regional games industry in Sweden.

*In order to receive the price money, you must have a registered company, if you don't have this yet, we can help you to set this up.

Location

The event will be held at Elite Stadshotellet in Karlstad, by the banks of Klarälven, neatly distanced to the central station and the town square. When arriving to the location, follow the west side of the building until your reach the entrance to Vana Spa. The events venue can be found on the second floor in the venue "Franska Salen".

Remember to fetch your badge at the entrance of the venue before the stage session starts at 14:00!


Storage

An unmanned cloakroom is available, but Elite Statshotellet or The Great Journey are not responsible for your valuables. Do not leave  items that could be stolen to lie in the open.

Who can submit?

To be eligible to pitch you must be 18 years or older, submit your application on time and deliver a pitch on the pitch day.

Rules

  • The pitch and the deliveries need to be in English
  • 5 minutes pitch and 5 minutes Q&A with the panel
  • In order to receive the price money, you must have a registered company, if you don't have this yet, we can help you to set this up.
  • Take part in the mandatory pitch training with our Game & Business Developers
  • A pitch on the pitch day.

Important Dates

    • May 4th - Deadline Pitch Deck Submission
    • May 9th - Response to pitchers if accepted
    • June 1st - Deadline Complimentary Delivery
    • June 3rd - Pitch day!

    Best Game Prototype

    Have a really polished prototype or demo of your game? Then you can participate in the competition for the best game prototype and take home 10.000 SEK! This is also an option for teams that just want to showcase their game without pitching. 

    • Need a functioning prototype/demo on the pitch day
    • Bring your own tech to and from the venue
    • There is access to open wifi
